Padasjoki (Finland)

Padasjoki is a municipality of Finland. It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Päijänne Tavastia region. The municipality has a population of 3,358 Padasjoki is known as a summer cottage municipality. By number, it has more holiday homes than permanent residents. Padasjoki is renowned for its natural beauty: Lake Päijänne and Päijänne National Park, many events during the summer (Sahti Market, Lake Päijänne Sailing Race) and nationally award-winning open-air theatre. Lake Päijänne is the second largest lake in Finland. The lake drains into the Gulf of Finland via the Kymi River.
